About the Space

The Wampum Learning Lodge is a space where Indigenous histories, cultures and identities are honoured and where all can learn. 

Booking Guidelines

We welcome requests from the Western University community and local community members for Indigenous programming, events, courses and special occassions. 

  • Requests must align with the Lodge's vision and mandate. 
  • Bookings occur during regular business hours. 
  • For special considerations or prior approval outside of regular hours, please contact our Director, Paula Cornelius-Hedgepeth (phedgepe@uwo.ca). 

Event Coordination

Booking a space at the Wampum Learning Lodge does not include event coordination services. The only exception is that our administrative assistants can help with:
  • Booking an Indigenous caterer
  • Managing parking passes (available for an additional cost) 

If you need assistance with event coordination, please contact Catering & Conference Services.  

Technology Requirements

If you plan to use the projector, please bring a laptop with HDMI compatibility. If you plan to use the camera and speaker system, please bring a laptop with USB compatibility. Adapters are not guaranteed.

MacBook users may experience more difficulty connecting to the A/V system. Please schedule additional time for potential troubleshooting.  

Acessibility Information

If you are booking a space downstairs, please note: 
  • The elevator is a small lift origianllyy designed for library book carts and could not be modified during refurbishment. 
  • Wheelchairs or scoots must use the accessible ramp through the outdoor classroom for entry to the lower level of the Lodge. 
  • The Gathering Dome on the main floor is the most accessible space. 

Summer Bookings (May-August)

Bookings will be unavailable during the summer semester due to internal programming by the Office of Indigenous Initiatives.

If you are a faculty member looking to book our classroom for the Fall/Winter terms, please reach out to wampumlearninglodge@uwo.ca.

Only classes that align with the Lodge's mandate will be accepted. Bookings re-open mid-August each year.
